Dr. Bridget Thompson, DPT


Bridget Thompson earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at New York Medical College in 2011 and a BA in Biological Sciences at State University of New York in Binghamton after completing their pre-med program in 2007.  Bridget completed her doctoral manuscript on Childhood Obesity and Exercise. Bridget has several years experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting, beginning as a Physical Therapy Aide after achieving her BA, continuing through her graduate level internships, and since obtaining her license in 2011.

Bridget has substantial experience working in the outpatient orthopedic setting and home health care setting.  She has worked with a wide variety of patients ranging from adolescent to professional athletes, celebrities, and your typical weekend warrior.

Bridget has completed several continuing education courses focusing on her manual skills including but not limited to several forms of soft tissue mobilization, active release techniques, MET, kinesiotaping, FOOTMAXX orthotics, and a running symposium on running styles.  Bridget likes to perform joint mobilization, deep tissue massage, effleurage/retrograde for inflammation, and trigger point release with active movement to maximize mobility of the soft tissue. She believes in using evidence–based treatment plans that incorporate manual therapy and therapeutic exercises and activities to meet her patients' goals.

Bridget's true passion in life is helping others. She believes the key to successful work with patients is creating a trusting relationship. She especially enjoys the satisfaction received from helping others attain their goals and enabling them to return to their optimal function levels.




 

Jasmine Swallow, MSc


Jasmine Swallow completed her Master’s of Science in Physiotherapy degree at Glasgow Caledonian University in Scotland in 2021. For her Undergraduate degree, Jasmine attended Brock University in Canada where she obtained her Bachelor’s of Kinesiology with Honours in 2018.

Jasmine has gained experience in several practical settings including musculoskeletal, pelvic obstetrics and gynaecology physiotherapy, learning disabilities, stroke rehabilitation, gastroenterology, and respiratory physiotherapy. This has allowed Jasmine to build a strong foundation treating a variety of conditions while motivating Jasmine to further her career.

In the future, Jasmine would like to specialize in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and women’s health with an emphasis on pelvic and obstetrics physiotherapy. Jasmine has completed a practical athletic training certification which includes stretching techniques, skills to manage and prevent on field injuries and emergency sports injury care. She also is certified in rebound therapy, and sports injury taping and wrapping. Jasmine plans to continue her professional development by completing her cupping and hot stone massage therapy courses.

Jasmine has played varsity volleyball and competitive soccer where she experienced numerous sport specific injuries. Therefore, she understands the desire to return to sport as soon as possible, along with the feelings of apprehension that may result from the injury.

She will provide a safe and confidential space to listen and recognize her patients’ needs and concerns. Jasmine believes in creating patient-centred goals by developing strong professional relationships with her patients and gaining an understanding of their priorities. She believes this optimizes patient participation in treatment sessions and encourages them to build confidence to facilitate their return to their sport, activities of daily living and becoming more independent.
